Comments
The Macintosh Performa 6400 series computers were powerful, flexible systems. They
featured a space-saving mini-tower design -- the only Performa line computer in a tower
configuration -- and provided a wealth of multimedia capabilities. The Performa 6400
series computers used the fast RISC-based PowerPC 603e processor. The 6400s included
a standard 8x-speed CD-ROM drive for smooth multimedia playback. Apple offered an
optional internal Zip drive. The Performa 6400 series computers had two PCI expansion
slots for flexibility in configuring the system to provide additional capabilities.
The 6400s had built in support for high-quality audio capabilities through a standard
SRS 3D surround sound system with integrated subwoofer. Internet access was provided
by a standard internal 28.8-Kbps modem.
