Racquetball

Smash Hit Racquetball! from Primera Software, © 1986, is a System 6 game designed exclusively for the Macintosh. It runs great on a System 6 Macintosh Plus. It will run on System 7.1 black and white Macs. I was unable to get it to run on a System 7.5 Macintosh LC III. It also did not run a System 9.1 iMac (Rev. C).

The game has great sound effects. There is a hollow, cavernous sound every time the ball hits the wall. The rules are basic racquetball rules. You can play against the computer or link the game through an AppleTalk network for a two players. Game play is very simple. You lead your racquetball player using the mouse by moving a dot on the floor of the court. The player follows your lead and swings to hit the ball when it comes into his path. Your player is the darker figure. The dim figure is your opponent.

The graphics are great for a game of this age. Smash Hit Racquetball plays best on a System 6, compact Macintosh. Best of all, if you have two compact Macs, AppleTalk connectors, a telephone line (RJ-11), and a friend, you can play Smash Hit Racquetball over an AppleTalk network.
