Let me introduce you to the 2004 Honda Element. It is one of the most affordable SUVs on the market. The Element has the same kind of flavor as an iPod Mini or a G5 Tower. It is different, innovative and very well made. This vehicle goes well with Vectronic's Apple lifestyle.

The Element is a new concept from the one of Japan's most respected automobile manufactures. Honda markets the Element to young adults. The concept stresses functionality over form, but I think it is still quite stylish, although many may disagree. It seems that most people either hate it or love it, but it does turn heads. That puts it in the same class as my Flat Panel iMac.

My model is the EX 2WD 4-spd AT. This model retails for around $20,000. It comes with 4-wheel anti-lock brakes, cruise control, electric side mirrors, electric windows, keyless entry, and a CD player. The sound system is respectable with a large subwoofer under the gear shifter. The gear shifter is situated under the CD players on the dashboard.

The engine is 2.4L I4, 16 valve, 160@5500hp. It gets the job done. The floor is coated with a durable rubber material, which makes it waterproof. The seats have a waterproof fabric similar to a diving suit. The Element has four doors. The two back doors are backward facing. There is a clamshell gate on the back. The back seats can fold up, providing a large amount of internal storage space.

I have become very fond of this vehicle after only a few weeks. It looks like it will hold up well and at 26 miles to the gallon highway mileage, it is very affordable to drive. Honda suggests an oil change every 5000 miles. This is a radical departure from the 3000-mile oil changes to which I have become accustomed. There is a 4-wheel drive version but it costs a few thousand more than my 2-wheel drive. Besides, I am not going to be doing too much off roading in this baby.
